Bobby Aguinaga did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Minneapolis Vikings from being beaten, 11-5, to the Portland Dragons at Minneapolis Grounds. Aguinaga went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Carlos Rodriguez, 3-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3.1 innings. The win lifted the Portland record to 52-39.

Jairo Cedillo had a big 2-run home run for the Dragons in the top of the second inning. With Portland leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Vismay Falcon, who is tied for 4th in the WC in wins with 10, and punished it. The result was his 25th home run of the season, which put the Dragons on top, 4-1.

"We maximized our offense today," said Portland skipper Greg Carpenter. "That makes everyone's life easier."
