Thunderbirds Earn Late 5-4 Win
|
Legednary Park played host to some dramatic action.
The Phoenix Thunderbirds picked up a win at Legednary Park, topping the Seattle Arrows, 5-4. On the mound for Phoenix was right-hander Yeniet Miranda. He played a principal role in the triumph. Phoenix reliever Sumiki Kono picked up the win to move to 2-1. Felipe Diaz suffered the loss.
Cody McLaughlin was the walk-off hero for Phoenix. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunderbirds left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was bedlam at the end," Miranda said.
The win makes Phoenix 37-52.
