Maine picked up a win at Ballpark of Portland, bumping off the Chicago Phantoms, 5-4. Pitcher Jim Lawrence was a major reason the Lobster emerged victorious. The winner was Maine reliever Rafael Morel, now 1-0. The loser was Franklin Lastre. Their 44-45 record puts the Lobster third in the Eastern Conference Benito Cossutta Division.

Maine took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Barry Kearney hit a 2-run single to make it 5-3, Lobster.

"When you win, you always have confidence," said Maine skipper Matthew McExpos. "Nobody likes to lose. Losing is a downer. That's how we look at it. It's always good to win."
