With 8-1 Win, Glaciers Improve to 56-34
|
James L'Hommedieu was nothing short of phenomenal for the Denver Glaciers. The 26-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Toronto Juggernauts, 8-1. L'Hommedieu yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-3. The first-place Glaciers, at 56-34, lead the Western Conference Paul Richardson Division by 9½ games.
Larry Perfect had a big 2-run home run for the Glaciers in the top of the third inning. With Denver leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from Ferrie Franssen, who finished 4th in the EC in wins with 16 in 2067, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 14th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Glaciers ahead, 3-0.
"James did a heck of a job," said Denver manager Todd Bleess.
