Los Angeles Hands Philadelphia 9-4 Defeat
|
The Los Angeles Stars beat the Philadelphia Spectres, 9-4, at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Bobby Badeaux was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. The two-time All-Star was a menace to Philadelphia all day. The first-place Stars improved to 55-33.
Los Angeles used the bat of Ramiro Perez to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Stars ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Winning is contagious," said Perez. "We're looking forward to the next game."
