Marko Leads Metropolitanos to 20-8 Win Over Friars
Casey Marko left his imprint on the 20-8 Havana win against the San Francisco Friars. Marko, who finished 2nd in the WC in hits with 197 in 2074, went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Touta Kubo got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Fish Rablood, who finished 4th in the WC in innings pitched with 214.2 in 2074, nailed down the save.

The Friars had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Metropolitanos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old first baseman Soo-sung Yu came to the plate. Yu hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 fastball from San Francisco hurler Lyalya Markosiants. It was Yu's 13th double of the year.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Marko.

Havana now owns a record of 52-34.
