Thunderbirds Knock Off Stars at Legednary Park
Starting pitcher Juan Casanas did his part in helping the Phoenix Thunderbirds thwart the Los Angeles Stars, 4-1. In 7.1 innings, Casanas surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. Jason Reilly finished the game for Phoenix and earned his 2nd save.

The Thunderbirds got a big hit from third baseman Matt Lacher. In the bottom of the fifth, Lacher pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 1st home run of the season put the Thunderbirds ahead, 3-0.

"We put together a nice win," Lacher said.

Los Angeles is 5-4 after the loss.
