Aces Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
The San Francisco Friars wasted an inspired, 7.1-inning effort from starter Alberto Vasquez, falling, 2-1, to the Las Vegas Aces at Staples Field. Salomé Sieuve, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 4 and walked 1 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 1 run on 4 hits. At 7-2, the Aces have played well so far.
Jessie Bouchard came through with a big-time hit for Las Vegas. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Bouchard.
