Aces Win, 4-3, Versus Lobster
|
The Las Vegas Aces knocked off the Portland (E) Lobster, 4-3, in Western Conference action at Ballpark of Portland. Las Vegas pitcher and Glendale, California, native Caleb Zwickey had an outstanding performance. The winner was Hemmu Chacha in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Peter Rook took the loss. Jose Castillo recorded his 13th save for Las Vegas.
Las Vegas used the hitting of Scott Flynn to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Aces on top, 4-3. For the game, Flynn had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Portland (E) manager Matthew McExpos. "But we decided not to take it."
Las Vegas raised its record to 46-39 with the win.
