Glaciers Go 10 Innings to Beat Philadelphia, 7-6
|
Philadelphia designated hitter Adam Stokes had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-6, to Denver at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Stokes belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Jeremy Lanham collected save number 8. Denver's record now stands at 52-33, placing them first in the Western Conference Paul Richardson Division.
Denver needed the clutch hitting of Edgar Albuja to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Glaciers on top, 7-5. For the game, Albuja had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a test of wills," said Todd Bleess, the Denver skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
