Spirited fans greeted the Phoenix Thunderbirds for their clash with the Las Vegas Aces.

With Jacob Testaverde leading the charge, the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 8-4. Testaverde went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Aces. Arturo Covarrubias got the win, improving to 6-6. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 1.

Las Vegas used a timely hit from Josh Newlin to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Aces ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Said Phoenix manager Joe Busch: "They just got the better of us."

The victory gives Las Vegas a record of 43-41.
