Fans watched the Portland Dragons and the Alaska Kodiaks fight to the finish.

The Portland Dragons wiggled past the Alaska Kodiaks, 4-3, at Tundradome. The win was highlighted by the performance of Portland pitcher Pablo Alvarez. Portland reliever Shuzo Morishita picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Omar Soto was tagged with the loss. Jeff Makowka got the save, the 2nd for him this season.

Portland took a 4-3 lead on Ray Garcia's 16th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Garcia hit in the top of the tenth, left Alaska pitcher Omar Soto shaking his head.

"There's no quit in this team," said Dragons manager Greg Carpenter.

Portland's record now stands at 48-34, placing them first in the Western Conference Paul Richardson Division.
