Kill Helps Baltimore Cruise to 12-3 Win
|
The Baltimore Kings captured an easy win, 12-3, over the Washington Senators at The ESPN Zone. Chris Kill led the offensive barrage, going 4-for-5 for Baltimore. Shan Shuai went 7.2 innings for Baltimore to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record improves to 1-0. The loss drops Washington to 4-5.
Baltimore designated hitter Chris Sikkink contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Kings ahead, 1-0.
"We lit up the scoreboard," said Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter.
