Luis Valera had a 3-RBI game, during Santiago's 5-3 triumph over the Boston Greens. Valera contributed 1 single, 1 double, and 1 walk to his team's cause. Volk Miller, who is tied for 3rd in the EC in quality starts with 11, was the winner. He's now 7-5. The loser was Dave Pineda. The last-place Avispas now sit at 28-55.
With Santiago trailing 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Valera hit a cutter from Dave Pineda for a bases-clearing double. It was his 13th double of the season and put the Avispas ahead, 3-2.
Santiago manager Jacob Pauly was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
