Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Dragons
Shigenobu Shimamoto was a major factor in the 7-4 Portland win over Alaska. The Dragons first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Willie Bravo recorded the save, making him 14 for 19. Portland now sits in first place in the Western Conference Paul Richardson Division at 47-34.

Shimamoto had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Juan Osorio, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Dragons a 7-4 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Shimamoto.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Shimamoto told the Portland Citizen.
