Chicago Phantoms starter Jarrod Beckman pitched a strong game against the Houston Aquas at Foster Field, leading the Phantoms to victory, 8-3. The second-place Phantoms now sit at 47-35.

Dave Yerges had a big 2-run triple for the Phantoms in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Antonio Equihua and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Phantoms ahead, 3-0.

"I love to hit," said Yerges. "As long as I keep loving it, the game's going to love me back."
