The Buffalo Rangers downed the Philadelphia Spectres, 2-1, at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Stellar pitching by Carl Rodda had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who finished 5th in the WC in innings pitched with 192.1 last year, handcuffed his opponent all game. Phillip Dalley picked up his 1st save of the season. The Rangers raised their record to 6-2.

Matty Hrinko came through with a big-time hit for Buffalo. The left fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Buffalo manager Alex Beckman praised his team's "businesslike approach."
