Another Day, Another Win for Stars
|
The Los Angeles Stars weathered an outstanding game by Kansas City catcher Brian Lynch to topple the Athletics, 4-3. Lynch was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Raiko Leon notched his 4th save in 6 chances. The Stars now have a record of 41-40 with the win over Kansas City.
The Stars got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Bishop. For the game, Bishop went 1-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-2 lead.
"The guys come to the ballpark ready," said Stars manager Pat Kaers. "They're going out there and doing the simple things right."
