Minneapolis Earn 2-0 Victory at Aetna Stadium
|
In a low-scoring affair between Minneapolis Vikings and the Tucson Toros, pitcher Johnny Veenstra was the difference-maker. The Minneapolis left-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 2-0 win. Veenstra, now 4-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The loss makes Tucson 37-44.
Chris Goudie had a direct impact on the outcome. Goudie contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Minneapolis up, 2-0.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Goudie.
