Santiago Ontiveros, who led the EC in wins with 19 in 2076, had a strong outing for the Buffalo Rangers against the Portland (E) Lobster at Ballpark of Portland. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-2 win. The Rangers saw their record improve to 44-37.

Buffalo won the game in part because of Jossue Lopez. The center fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 7-1. For the game, Lopez had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman. "That's what Santiago is right now."
