Stars Turn Back Thunderbirds, 6-5

The Los Angeles Stars handed the Phoenix Thunderbirds a 6-5 defeat at Legednary Park. Left Fielder Chris Brankin starred for Los Angeles. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The loss drops the Thunderbirds to 3-6.
Manny Sagastisado drove in one run for Los Angeles. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Yoelbi Cabreira. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Brankin told the Los Angeles Gazette.
