R.J. Mendenhall, who is tied for 4th in the EC in wins with 8, was locked in. The right-hander led the Brooklyn Browns to a 6-1 win against the Santiago Avispas at Estadio Guillermón Moncada. Mendenhall got the win, improving to 8-4. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Brooklyn now sits at 39-41, while Santiago falls to 45-36.
Brian Wooten, who finished 4th in the WC in batting average with .312 in 2078, helped out the Brooklyn cause in the top of the first inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
