The Minneapolis Vikings torpedoed the Phoenix Thunderbirds at Legednary Park. The final score was 6-2, Minneapolis. Vince Minta went 3-for-5 for the winning team. Minneapolis pitcher Eliecer Cervantes got the win. He's now 1-0. Yeniet Miranda was tagged with the loss. Phoenix now is 3-5.

Tony Pineda had a big 2-run home run for the Vikings in the top of the first inning. With Minneapolis leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Yeniet Miranda and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Vikings on top, 3-0.

After the game, Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
