Athletics Slap 7-1 Loss on Toros
|
Jose Caro was terrific for the Kansas City Athletics in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Tucson Toros. His performance earned Caro rave reviews. The Athletics saw their record improve to 29-52.
Duviel Zaldivar had a big 3-run home run for the Athletics in the top of the eighth inning. With Kansas City leading 4-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a sinker from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Antonio Raygoza and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Athletics on top, 7-1.
Zaldivar called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
