Titans Need Extra Innings to Top Vikings, 8-6
The New York Titans and the Minneapolis Vikings played into extra innings before the winner was determined. The Titans won it, 8-6, in 10 innings. In the game, New York left fielder Zahi Cobo was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. New York reliever Matt Pontius picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Ti-an Fang absorbed the loss. Ricardo Alas got the save, his 17th in 19 chances.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman David Jiron came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Minneapolis pitcher Ti-an Fang, he hit a 1-1 slider for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 8-6.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said New York manager Nate Beckman.

The loss makes Minneapolis 31-49.
