Twins Handed 12-6 Loss by Washington
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Washington Senators and Cincinnati Twins.

Washington left fielder Alex Tejeda made his presence felt in the 12-6 Senators triumph over the Cincinnati Twins. Tejeda was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. By defeating Cincinnati, the last-place Senators improved to 33-48.

MaurĂcio Masquelier was 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Washington. The 30-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Abdi Bitok. It was his 21st RBI of the season.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Masquelier. "I just want to win ballgames."
