The Kansas City Athletics defeated the Washington Senators, 7-6, at Ballpark of Missouri. Kansas City catcher Sean Waterhouse had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Alex Laso went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The left-hander struck out 3 and walked 4. With the win, he ups his record to 8-5 this season. The Athletics sit in second place in the Western Conference Mike Stump Division with a record of 46-33.

With Kansas City leading 5-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Waterhouse hit a 2-run single off Washington hurler Kelly Lazell. It was the 59th hit of the season for Waterhouse and put his team ahead, 7-3.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Waterhouse.
