The Minneapolis Vikings topped the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 4-2, in Western Conference action at Legednary Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Minneapolis pitcher Slider Brooks. Getting the save was Johnny Wickwire, his 13th. The victory gives Minneapolis a record of 42-37.

Ian Sabre, the 27-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Sabre contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Minneapolis up, 2-0.

"I really like what we did out there today," Sabre said after the game.
