Drooping Friars Lose 6th Straight

The Chicago Phantoms did just enough to sneak past the San Francisco Friars, 5-4, at Staples Field. Chicago second baseman Nala Forcelledo, in particular, had a standout performance. San Francisco now owns a losing streak of 6 games.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Alberto Guardiola to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Phantoms on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Afterward, San Francisco manager Erich Weatherholt said: "Every team has a bad week."
