Destroyers Lose at Home, 4-1
|
Alaska pitcher Eliecer Cervantes did his part in helping his team defeat the San Diego Destroyers, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The winning pitcher was Cervantes, now 3-5. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Marco Ramirez collected save number 5.
Making an impact for Alaska was left fielder Ryan McCray. Crusher drilled a run-scoring triple off Matt Rook in the top of the third. For the game, McCray was 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Eliecer did a tremendous job," said Alaska manager Alex King.
The 4th-place Kodiaks now have a record of 40-38.
