Draves Stars as Wolves Top Friars, 5-3
|
The 5-3 Vancouver win over San Francisco was due largely to Ken Draves. The Wolves second baseman was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Vito Pels got the win, improving to 3-4. He held the Friars to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Ruben Hernandez picked up the save, his 2nd.
With Vancouver leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Draves hit a 2-run single off San Francisco hurler Roger Calzada. It was the 60th hit of the season for Draves and put his team ahead, 3-0.
Draves called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The last-place Wolves are now 31-47, the Friars 35-43.
