Shigenobu Shimamoto did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Portland Dragons from being beaten, 7-5, to the Denver Glaciers at Portland Park. Shimamoto was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Tetsukazu Kaneda got the win, improving to 5-3. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 3. With the win, the Glaciers have a record of 49-28.

Edgar Albuja had a big run-scoring triple for the Glaciers in the top of the fourth inning. With Denver leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Scherer and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Glaciers ahead, 3-0.

"This is a very good team," said Albuja. "We have the chance to do something special."
