Titans Outlast Kings, 14-12
|
In a high-scoring game between New York and Baltimore, designated hitter Kamakana Aniani was a difference-maker. The 33-year-old helped New York grab the 14-12 win. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Earning the save was Ricardo Alas. He's now cashed in 15 of 17 save opportunities. The first-place Titans bumped their record to 56-21.
Jimmy Keener had a big 2-run double for the Titans in the top of the fifth inning. With New York leading 10-9 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mark Sanderson and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Titans ahead, 12-9.
"They're fun to watch and the hitters get to pad their stats but nobody's really happy about a game like that," New York manager Nate Beckman. "I promise you I'm not happy."
