The San Francisco Friars stopped the San Antonio Angels, 10-7, at Tesoro Stadium. The Friars got a big game from Leonilde Tigre, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. San Francisco reliever Bobby Sanchez got the win, raising his record to 5-2. Dirk Zasko was tagged with the loss.

San Francisco used the clutch hitting of Antonio Fiss to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Friars the lead, 9-7. For the game, Fiss had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Tigre, "but we could've played better."

San Francisco improves to 50-26 with the win. They lead their division by 5½ games.
