The Washington Senators had to overcome a good performance from Los Angeles pitcher Jordan Oliva to claim a 2-1 win at The ESPN Zone. Oliva went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Hawk Hartshorn went 5 innings for Washington to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 1 run. He scattered 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. His record improves to 2-12. Keung King closed it out for his 14th save.
Alex Tejeda, who is tied for 7th in the EC in triples with 3, contributed to the Washington win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 2 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers.
At 32-44, the Senators claim last place in the Eastern Conference Rex Rawnsley Division.
