The Los Angeles Stars had to overcome a big game from Kansas City catcher Sean Waterhouse to leave Ballpark of Missouri with a victory. And they did, winning, 9-7. Waterhouse hit 2 home runs. Natsume Iwasaki was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Danny Reyes. Picking up the save was Michael Daubner. He's now 1 for 1 in save chances.

In the top of the third inning, the Stars grabbed the lead when Marty Avalos rapped a two-out single. Los Angeles was trailing 2-1, when Avalos hit a 2-run single off Marco Moya to put his team in front, 3-2.

"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Avalos. "Those qualities define our team."

Los Angeles bumps their record to 36-40 with the win.
