Sanchez Shuts Out Athletics, 3-0
The Phoenix Thunderbirds did little to support starter Bobby Sanchez against the Kansas City Athletics, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Athletics, striking out 5 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Sanchez allowed Phoenix to escape with the 3-0 win despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said 'Bobby, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Sanchez told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

In season stats Sanchez shows a 7-4 record in 15 games, 96.2 innings, 62 strikeouts and a 2.42 ERA.
