Downward Spiral Continues for Vancouver

Raul Garibaldi pitched well, but the Vancouver Wolves still fell short, losing, 3-1, to the San Francisco Friars at Staples Field. Marco Flores earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. Kelvin Vaquera recorded the save, his 1st.
The Friars got a big at-bat from first baseman Felix Perez. For the game, Perez went 2-4 with 2 doubles. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave San Francisco a 2-1 lead.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Matt Libid.
The win puts San Francisco at 4-4.
