Mendoza drives in 6 runs to Fuel Spectres Offense
|
Led by Sal Mendoza, the Philadelphia Spectres defeated the Toronto Juggernauts, 9-6. Mendoza, a native of San Francisco de MacorĂs, Duarte, went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for the Spectres. The winning pitcher was Mike Colunga. His record now stands at 4-5. The left-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits for the Spectres. The 4th-place Spectres are now 33-41, the Juggernauts 42-33.
Luisbanis Valido, who finished 5th in the EC in hits with 173 in 2074, aided the Philadelphia cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder drew 2 walks in 5 trips to the plate.
