Vikings Come Back Late to Top Thunderbirds, 5-2
|
Due in large part to catcher David Elizalde, the Minneapolis Vikings sunk the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 5-2. Elizalde hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Chandler Godar earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. The win gives the Vikings a record of 4-4.
Elizalde had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the sixth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Vikings went on to win.
"David is still learning," said Vikings manager Ace Cooan. "The sky's the limit for him."
