Aces Come Up Short at San Francisco, 3-2
|
The San Francisco Friars, despite a fine performance by Las Vegas pitcher Pierre Prent, grabbed a 3-2 win at Staples Field. Prent allowed 1 run over 5 innings. Las Vegas drops to 5-3.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when left fielder Leonilde Tigre, who finished 2nd in the WC in OPS with .987 last year, hit a double. The Friars went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Tigre told a San Francisco Today reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
