Twins Stop Senators, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Twins beat the Washington Senators, 3-2. Cincinnati pitcher and Chetumal, Mexico, native Jesus Carbajal led the way. Achatius Winkelman was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities. Cincinnati occupies last place in the Eastern Conference Jose Santovenia Division at 27-45.
In the bottom of the seventh, Cincinnati third baseman Jessie McMenemy hit a run-scoring single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 3-2, Twins.
"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," McMenemy said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game."
