Senators Get One-Run Win at Baltimore
|
The Washington Senators had to overcome a big game from Baltimore first baseman Roberto Rendon to leave AT&T Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 4-3. Rendon went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Keung King earned the save for Washington, his 13th of the year. The Senators saw their record improve to 29-42.
Washington used a clutch at-bat from Matthew Bankson to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Senators ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Bankson attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
