Greens Edge Portland (E) in Pitching Duel

Arrington Park featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Portland (E) Lobster got a superb performance from pitcher Nelson Valdez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Boston. The Greens won the game, 1-0. Valdez threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The Greens go to 28-42 with the win.
The Greens got a big at-bat from catcher Richard Allemand. For the game, Allemand was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Boston a 1-0 lead.
"Watch and learn," said Allemand. "This is what good pitching looks like."
