Twins Take Tight Tilt
|
The Cincinnati Twins racked up a win at Legednary Park, bumping off the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 4-3. Edwin Vazquez, who started for Cincinnati, pitched effectively for his team. In 8.1 innings, Vazquez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Cincinnati, at 36-35, occupies third place in the Eastern Conference Zounes Kamuzu Division.
Cincinnati used a clutch at-bat from Alex Sierra to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Twins ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Sierra called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
