The Los Angeles Stars handed the Phoenix Thunderbirds a 5-4 defeat at Stars Ballpark. First Baseman Ramiro Perez starred for Los Angeles. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles reliever Miguel Torrez snagged the win, upping his record to 1-4. Javy Alamillo shouldered the loss. The first-place Stars sport a record of 42-29.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 26-year old second baseman Willis Aguilar had a real shot to win the game. Phoenix pitcher Javy Alamillo was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Aguilar hit a run-scoring single. The Stars had a walk-off triumph.

"What we get, we earn," Aguilar told the Los Angeles Gazette.
