The Portland Dragons downed the San Diego Destroyers, 9-6. The hitting star was first baseman Alex Guilzar. Guilzar belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Dragons. The winner in relief was Eric Scherer. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. The Destroyers had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Dragons going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old catcher Imbart Sleegers came to the plate. Sleegers hit a solo home run on a 2-2 curveball from San Diego hurler Harold Ruspoli. It was Sleegers's 5th home run of the year.

"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Guilzar told the Portland Today.
