Buffalo Rallies Past Toronto, 3-1
|
Molson Park was the site of a tense game between the Toronto Juggernauts and Buffalo Rangers.
In a low-scoring game between Buffalo and Toronto, pitcher Mike Trice was excellent. The Buffalo right-hander helped his team knock off the Juggernauts, 3-1. The winner was Trice. He threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Ubaldo Salviati. Abel Downey, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when left fielder Matty Hrinko, who led the EC in on-base percentage with .414 in 2076, hit a double. The Rangers went on to win.
"Mike did a really nice job of taking the ball and giving us a chance to win the game," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman.
Buffalo has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
