Rangers Win 6-5 Walk-Off
|
The Buffalo Rangers and Philadelphia Spectres obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
The Buffalo Rangers withstood an impressive performance by Philadelphia right fielder Adam Stokes to defeat the Spectres, 6-5, at Bison Stadium. Stokes was 4-5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Buffalo pitcher Jon Krause got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jonathan Pilgrim got the loss.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 11th. With Buffalo trailing 5-4, Josh Beauchesne hit a curveball from Phil Wilson to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Rangers had a walk-off win.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Beauchesne said.
The Rangers, at 47-21, have a comfortable 16½-game lead in their division.
