Sikkink Delivers Walk-Off Win for Kings
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Baltimore Kings and the Washington Senators, pitcher Shan Shuai was the difference between victory and defeat. The Baltimore left-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Kings win. Baltimore reliever Ocean Mendoza picked up the win, raising his record to 1-2. Jose Nereida was tagged with the loss. The Kings saw their record improve to 36-33.
The decisive blow was delivered by Chris Sikkink in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old left-handed pitcher Jose Nereida to win the game for Baltimore. The home crowd went nuts.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Josh Cooan.
