Thunderbirds 1B Hsiao has 3 hits in Win
|
The Los Angeles Stars and Phoenix Thunderbirds provided some drama for the home crowd.
Thanks in large part to designated hitter Er Hsiao, the Phoenix Thunderbirds beat the Los Angeles Stars, 6-5. Hsiao was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The second-place Thunderbirds improved to 36-33.
Phoenix used the timely hitting of Sem Vreke to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Hsiao.
