Muranaka Homers Twice in 8-3 Dragons Win
The Portland Dragons licked the Alaska Kodiaks, 8-3. Ginjiro Muranaka deserved a big chunk of the credit. The shortstop went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Dragons. Tsunesaburo Kai got the win, improving to 6-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 3. Today's win puts Portland at 35-34, while Alaska falls to 37-33.

Portland grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Muranaka hit a 3-run home run off Rick Stockley. His 15th home run of the season put the Dragons out in front, 3-0.

Muranaka called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
