Velado Swings Kodiaks to 9-6 Win
Getting a good performance from right fielder Tillmam Velado, the Alaska Kodiaks defeated the Houston Aquas, 9-6. Velado was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Kodiaks. The Kodiaks now have a record of 34-36 with the win over Houston.

Alaska used a clutch at-bat from Mark Chamblin to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Kodiaks ahead, 6-5. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We maximized our offense today," said Alaska skipper Alex King. "That makes everyone's life easier."
