Kodiaks Sink Dragons, 4-3
|
Alaska beat Portland at Portland Park, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to second baseman Tat Xú. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Carlos Torres picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-6. He struck out 1 in 6.2 innings. Alaska, at 33-36, holds down last place in the Western Conference John Sexton Division.
Shigenobu Shimamoto, who led the WC in home runs with 60 in 2074, had a direct impact on the outcome. Shimamoto contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Alaska up, 2-0.
After the game, Alaska manager Alex King applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
