Zimmers Excels, Miami Levels Boston
|
The Miami Cyclones used an offensive barrage to beat the Boston Greens, 13-2, at Arrington Park. Paul Zimmers led the way, going 4-for-5 for Miami. Bobby Edwards, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-2. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Cyclones, at 44-24, sit in first place in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division.
Miami used the hitting of Takeya Ogata to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Cyclones on top, 9-0. For the game, Ogata had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
