Aces Lambaste Friars, 16-3
|
The Las Vegas Aces did not need a Herculean effort from starter Arturo Covarrubias, not with their offense scoring runs at will. Las Vegas dispatched the San Francisco Friars, 16-3. Las Vegas is second in the Western Conference Nala Forcelledo Division with a record of 34-34.
Scott Flynn had a big 2-run double for the Aces in the top of the first inning. With Las Vegas leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Jon Dehmer and swatted a double to center. It was his 21st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aces ahead, 3-0.
"This is playing in sync. Everything kind of fell into place," said winning manager Justin Coroian.
